Meanings of various sanskrit words compiled from various internet  websites, all credit  goes to them.


(AUM) = Primordial Sound

अंबा (aMbaa) = mother

अकर्म (akarma) = inaction

अकृतेन (akRitena) = without discharge of duty

अक्रोधः (akrodhaH) = freedom from anger

अचलं (achalaM) = unmoving

अचलेन (achalena) = without its being deviated


अचिन्त्य (achintya) = inconceivable


अच्युत (achyuta) = O infallible one


अतूल्यं (atuulyaM) = uncomparable

अदिती (aditii) = the mother of the gods 


अद्भूतं (adbhuutaM) = wonderfull

अनन्तं (anantaM) = unlimited

अन्नं (annaM) = foodstuff

अपरिग्रह (aparigraha) = abstention from greed, non-possessiveness

अन्योन्य (anyonya) = mutual

अर्पणं (arpaNaM) = contribution

दा (daa) = to give

दिवं (divaM) = to heaven

दिवि (divi) = in heaven

दिव्यं (divyaM) = transcendental

निःस्पृहः (niHspRihaH) = desireless

नित्यं (nityaM) = daily/always


पुण्यं (puNyaM) = pious


प्रमाथि (pramaathi) = Agitating

प्रमदः (pramadaH) = (become) proud or arrogant

मोह (moha) = temptation


मोहं (mohaM) = infatuation

मोहः (mohaH) = illusion

मोहनं (mohanaM) = the delusion

मैत्री (maitrii) = friendship

राग (raaga) = Anger

रागी (raagii) = very much attached

लक्षं (lakShaM) = target

वरं (varaM) = better

कामं (kaamaM) = desire

काम (kaama) = lust


गु (gu) = darkness

रु (ru) = light

Anything which goes from Darkness to light is Guru
